Megan’s Birth Story
This is Megan’s account of her most recent birth!
“Baby boy is here. Shout out to the best doula Becky Shroyer Rohrback for the delivery assist! We caught Baby unassisted 💪 💪
Birth Story:
Woke up yesterday with some contractions and Baby feeling low. Got the girls ready and dropped off. By 9am I called my husband to come home as contractions were consistently 10mins apart. They calmed down a bit and I was able to chill, eat breakfast, watch a show and relax. Sent my husband to the pharmacy to grab our daughters RX around 1:15. I turned on my Christian Hypnobirthing app and swayed next to the bed for awhile. Contractions started to pick back up and were about 5mins apart around 1:45/2pm. Txt Becky and called Mom & hubby to let em known it was go time around 2:15 as contractions were about 2.5mins apart. Got to the hospital at 2:40pm. Got checked in, went to triage. 3pm 6cm dilated, 90% effaced, -2. I felt a lil discouraged I was only 6cm because the contractions were INTENSE. Nurse came in to take me to my room. I declined the wheelchair and started the walk. My husband ran to the car to grab our bags and meet Becky. Got hit with a super intense contraction, took a second to breathe through it. Finally got to the room and the nurse ran to get me a birthing ball and some ice water cause those contractions had me sweating. Hubby and Becky walked in. Water broke and I felt a little dizzy. Becky suggested I lay down in the bed. I attempted, and immediately wasn't feeling comfy. I was on hands and knees trying to find a better position and I felt baby's head coming. I said Baby is coming out! Becky hit the call button, hubby ran to the hallway to grab a nurse. Before any hospital staff came in, Baby was out! Becky supported babe to the bed, I leaned down and met our new slippery babe, picked him up and welcomed him to his new world. 💙 🍼💙”
